My son doesn’t have a final dx, but its probably Bipolar I with psychotic symptoms or Schizoaffective Disorder. He is having terrifying auditory hallucinations. First he was on Zyprexa (15mg daily) with Cogentin (.25mg) but had too much of a weight gain. So, he was switched to Geodon (120 mg daily) with the same amount of Cogentin which seems to be getting a little control of the hallucinations. Over the last few stays he has been complaining that he can’t sleep and can’t stay confortable in his own skin. What do you recommend? Could his doctors mix Zprexa which had a more sedating effect for nightime use and use Zprexa during the day? Any ideas to suggest to his doctors? He wants to be med compliant.
